This T. Rex t-shirt features an image of lead singer Marc Bolan (born Mark Field). Bolan began his career as a clothes model, before trying his hand at folk music under the name Toby Tyler. He then changed his name to Marc Bolan and had a brief stint with Mod band John's Children who did not reach great heights. Bolan did not stay with them long. He then formed Tyrannosaurus Rex with Steve Peregrine Took. This version of the band released four albums which still had a folk style sound, before Took was replaced by Mickey Finn and Bolan shortened the bands name to T. Rex. Their sound took on a more electric sound and Bolan began wearing glitter, top hats and feather boas on stage, creating the glam rock sound and look which started the glam movement. T.Rex became very popular, scoring many hit singles and infuencing many other artists to adopt the glam look, including David Bowie, Mick Jagger and Rod Stewart. Bolan died two weeks before his 30th birthday when the car he was a passenger in crashed into a tree. He was killed instantly. This is a 100% cotton Marc Bolan T-Rex tshirt.
