Ceremony and In a Lonely Place was New Orders first single follwoing on from the suicide of Ian Curtis, both songs were written by Joy Division in the months leading up to the death of the frontman. The single marked a new era for the band and a new sound and although many people criticise Bernard Sumners renditions of Curtis' vocals, the songs are still seen as pivotal pieces of music by the band.
