This girls R.E.M. tshirt features a full colour print of frontman Michael Stipe wearing his famous blue war paint. Stipe met Peter Buck while he was at college in Georgia in 1980. They decided to form a band. Mike Mills and Bill Berry were also students at their University and joined the band, R.E.M. were born. They then dropped out of college to focus their time on the band, it turned out to be a good move as they were signed a year later by I.R.S. Records, who released their "Chronic Town" EP. Their first album "Murmur" was released in 1983. R.E.M's early material is characterised by Stipe's mumbling vocal style and indecipherable lyrics. Between '83 and '88 REM brought out 5 more records: (Reckoning, Fables of the Reconstruction, Lifes Rich Pageant, Document and Green) before finding mainstream fame with their '91 album "Out of Time". Michael Stipe's toned down his vocals, making them a lot clearer, and Out Of Time went quadruple-platinum. The next REM release "Automatic for the people" made them household names, again going platinum four times over. R.E.M. have remeined at the top of their game since then, with six more big selling albums and are still one of the worlds biggest acts. This is a girls 100% cotton classic fit Michael Stipe of R.E.M. t shirt.
