This kids T Rex girls t-shirt has a print showing Marc Bolan (born Mark Field). He started out as a model, before becoming a folk music singer with the name Toby Tyler. He then became Marc Bolan, briefly joining Pop Art band John's Children but they didn't gain much success and he quit the band. Bolan and Steve Peregrine Took then formed a band they called Tyrannosaurus Rex. This early version of T Rex made four LPs which had a folk style, but then Bolan decided to replace Took with Mickey Finn and shortened the bands name to T. Rex. The style changed again, sounding more electric. Bolan started sporting top hats, feather boas and glitter, which began the glam rock movement. They became popular quickly, having hit records and influencing other performers to adopt his look, including Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart and David Bowie.
