This girls Heavy Metal Kids tshirt has a print showing frontman Gary Holton. The Heavy Metal Kids were formed in '74, and Holton's attitude heavy persona made him a bit of of an icon of rock. He was not a member for very long as he was kicked out of the band in '75 for heavy drinking and raucous behaviour. He then fronted The Damned for a small Scottish tour as singer Dane Vanian was unwell. Gary Holton is best known for his acting. As a young man he was a member of the RSC and when his music career faltered, he returned to acting. Holton had a few small roles in Minder and Quadrophenia among other things, before getting the role that would make him a household name - as Wayne Winston Norris in Auf Wiedersehn Pet.
