Mario dominates Nintendo Wii gaming charts About five or so years ago, if you’d been asked whether you’d be sitting down for a game of Super Mario Brothers or Mario Cart on a regular basis, you’d probably have said no.

But, just when we all thought the plumbers and their dungarees had been consigned to our childhood, they made a resurgence courtesy of the Wii.

According to GFK Chart Track, the latest Super Mario game for the Nintendo games console is topping the charts, with Mario Cart coming in a close second.

That’s pushed Sonic and co down the ranks to third – everyone of a certain age will no doubt remember the great Sonic vs Mario debates of their younger years!

Some of us might even be tempted to hunt out some old Nintendo T-shirts now that characters like Mario, Luigi and Yoshi have made such a successful comeback.

It’s actually quite scary to think that the original Mario Bros game was released as far back as 1983, with the first of the Super Mario Bros titles appearing two years later.

Although Mario may have changed quite a lot since the 80s, it seems his popularity hasn’t.ADNFCR-2904-ID-19683510-ADNFCR
