Vintage T-shirts are set to become the must-have fashion accessory of the summer, according to a clothing expert.

Oonagh Brennan, fashion director at Company magazine, says everyone heading to the coolest festivals and events under the summer sun will want a retro look.

She notes the vast range of vintage T-shirts on offer these days, which is perhaps evidence in itself that the look is well and truly in.

Explaining the type of look she believes will be big in 2010, Ms Brennan states: “These are the T-shirts with words on them and little pictures and that kind of thing. There’s a lot of that stuff going on which looks really good.”

She suggests items such as skinny jeans, wellies and even bumbags will also be back in fashion as Britain gears up for the hot season.

The perfect accompaniment to festival T-shirts was revealed earlier this month by Jess Cartner-Morley, writing for the Guardian, who said shorts should be even shorter this year.
