Music just isn’t the same as it used to be is something that my grandparents are always telling me.

And you know what, I’m starting to agree with them.

These days I’d much rather settle down with the classics from the likes of the Beatles, Elvis and Elton John than the singles from the latest rapper or reality show winner.

That’s why an upcoming auction in Los Angeles, California caught my eye, as it features a couple of lots that I can only dream of owning.

Firstly, explains the BBC, a white rhinestone glove previously owned by the late, great Michael Jackson is up for grabs at the June 13th sale.

Also due to go under the hammer is a rare tape recording of the famous 1966 press conference in which John Lennon claimed the Beatles were more popular than Jesus.

If, like me, you don’t quite have the cash to think of making a bid for the items – which are expected to fetch approximately £10,000 and £16,800 respectively – then wearing a music T-shirt to mark the occasion might be the next best thing.
