A new documentary about the recent life of actor Joaquin Phoenix is set to be released in September, reports Deadline.

The film – I’m Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix – by Casey Affleck, follows the Gladiator and Walk The Line star through his attempts to be taken seriously as a hip-hop artist, which has not yet been dismissed as a joke for the purpose of the film.

Eamonn Bowles, president of Magnolia said: “No matter what I thought coming in, I came out feeling this was a pretty amazing piece of work, jaw-dropping but dimensional.”
