Fans of Jay-Z may be interested to hear he has been named as the richest rapper of 2010, after earning $63 million (£40.2 million) over the past 12 months.
The Brooklyn-born artist topped Hip-Hop’s Cash Kings, the rap rich-list published annually by Forbes, for the second year running.
Ryan Schinman, head of Platinum Rye – the largest buyer of music and talent for corporations in the US – told the magazine that Jay-Z is “in a league of his own right now”.
“There are very few artists of any genre, not just hip-hop, who’ve created such brands for themselves,” he added.
P Diddy took second place in the list, which also featured Akon, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and Kanye West – who joined Jay-Z live on stage at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.
Rap fans who want to celebrate the Jigga Man’s success can pick up one of the music T-shirts featuring him available at 8ball.co.uk.
