Banksy Simpsons Intro – Into the sweatshop!

Everyones favourite graffiti artist Banksy has created a controversial title sequence for The Simpsons – watch it here!
The opening intro for the show, which has only been shown in the USA on Sunday, starts as normal but shows Banksy’s tag scrawled across the town of Springfield and shows Bart Simpson with a surgical mask on writing “I must not write all over the walls” in a nod to the graffiti artist.
It closes with a minute-long sequence showing hundreds of sweatshop workers in a dark, dilapidated warehouse painting cartoons for the show and making Simpsons merchandise. Even cute kittens are shown being thrown into a wood chipper to create stuffing for Bart Simpson dolls merchandise, and a depressed looking unicorn, chained to the factory wall, is used to punch holes in Simpsons DVDs!
We’ve watched the intro and it gets more and more depressing in tone, but the titles finally end with a grey image of the logo of 20th Century Fox, guarded by searchlights, a watchtower and a barbed wire fence, is this perhaps the Simpsons makers feeling imprisoned by Rupert Murdoch, Fox’s owners?
According to Banksy, his storyboard led to delays, disputes over broadcast standards and a threatened walk out by the animation department at The Simpsons creative studio.
