John Lennon memorial unveiled in Liverpool A memorial statue in John Lennon’s honour was unveiled in Liverpool by his first wife Cynthia and son Julian at the weekend.

Saturday (October 9th) would have been the late Beatle’s 70th birthday and saw the monument, a globe with doves flying above, revealed.

“We come here with our hearts to honour dad and pray for peace and say thank you to each and every one of you and everybody involved in the celebrations today,” Julian said.

More than 2,000 people, including The Beatles’ original drummer Pete Best, turned up and sang Give Peace A Chance to pay their respects to the musician.

Fans of Lennon may wish to pick up a music T-shirt in his honour from the huge range available at 8ball.co.uk.
