New U2 album may be released in early 2011 U2 are set to release a new album in “early 2011″, according to their manager Paul McGuinness.

McGuinness revealed the follow-up to 2009′s No Line On The Horizon, which is provisionally titled Songs Of Ascent, is due soon.

“I would expect a new U2 album sooner than anybody thinks. I would guess early 2011 before the next leg of the American tour which starts in May,” he said.

The band have already previewed a number of new songs during the ongoing 360 tour and may be set to play next summer’s Glastonbury after recently dropping a number of hints to fans via their official website.

Bono and the gang had been due to play last summer but the frontman’s back injury prevented them from doing so.
