Cowell hits back at Weller Simon Cowell has replied to a jibe by former The Jam band member Paul Weller criticising shows such as the X-Factor.

Weller had labelled such productions “very cheap programming and the lowest common denominator stuff”, but Cowell said he would never have the Modfather on his show because he has never “put out a good record”, NME reports.

Cowell also said of Weller: “I have not read anything he has said which is interesting”.

The music mogul spoke as the talent show approaches its final, with Saturday night set to crown the best act of 2010.

Fans of Simon Cowell might want to pay tribute to him with a t-shirt available at 8ball.co.uk, while some may want to go for alternative-shirts to support Paul Weller’s comments about the X-Factor.

Guitarist Paul Weller was one of the founding members of The Jam, when it arrived on the scene in 1977, hitting the top 40 with the hit In The City.ADNFCR-2904-ID-800285643-ADNFCR
