Metallica 'to start work on new album this year' Metallica are set to head into the studio again soon to record a new album, it has been suggested.

The band’s drummer Lars Ulrich has suggested the group – famed for songs including Creeping Death, One and Enter Sandman – will enter the studio in spring.

Speaking to Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Ulrich said: “In the past, we would be fed up with Metallica whenever we returned home after a gigantic world tour, but this time it’s different.”

He added the four piece will look to get the creative process going in March or April and go into the studio.
