Roger Daltrey has come out in praise of Liam Gallagher.
The 66-year-old described the controversial former Oasis member as “an absolute sweetheart” while he chatted to DJ Dave Gorman on an Absolute Radio show.
“Liam’s a very talented guy, very funny guy, very witty guy and much cleverer than people give him credit for,” he said.
Daltrey also revealed on air that he will probably hang up his microphone for the final time in two or three years.
He will nevertheless soon be fronting classic rock band The Who – whose anthems include Won’t Get Fooled Again, I Can See For Miles and My Generation – in a performance at the Teenage Cancer Trust concerts at the Royal Albert Hall.
Gallagher’s new outfit Beady Eye will also be playing at the annual series of gigs for the charity and fans can pick up rock t-shirts in tribute to either act at 8ball.co.uk
