Coldplay to finance Ray Winstone film Coldplay are reportedly not content with being one of the world’s most successful bands, as they are also planning to enter the world of movies.

The group are set to help finance a forthcoming Ray Winstone film, according to reports.

Entitled Ashes, the movie is being directed by friend of the band Mat Whitecross, who has also previously worked with the group on promo videos for tracks such as Lovers in Japan and Violet Hill.

As well as offering funding for the film, which has been described as a noir thriller, the band members are acting as executive producers.

However, the project does not sound as if it will distract the group too much from their day job, as they are planning to release their fifth album soon and play the headline slot at Glastonbury this summer.
