Foo Fighters commended for Brisbane flood benefit An Australian politician has praised the Foo Fighters for their efforts in aid of the flood victims in Brisbane.

The Learn to Fly rockers put on a charity concert at the city’s Riverstage last night (March 27th) in a gesture that did not go unnoticed by Queensland Premier Anna Bligh, who told news.com.au she was pleased the band were passionate about helping those whose lives had been destroyed by the disaster.

“They wanted to speak about how many people were out of their homes … they are genuinely interested … Foo Fighters care about people who need help,” she said.

Fronted by Dave Grohl, the group performed material from their forthcoming album Wasting Light at the event.

All profits earned from their performance went towards Ms Bligh’s Disaster Relief Fund, which has so far raised over AU$250 million (£160 million).
