A film that features a Stone Roses concert will be auditioning members of the public, organisers have announced.
Producers have invited male actors between the ages of 16 and 22 to a location in Sale, Greater Manchester, where auditions will be held tomorrow (March 12th).
The movie is called Spike Island, the Cheshire venue where the Stone Roses played to a crowd of 30,000 in 1990, with the plot focusing upon a group of wannabe musicians living on a Manchester council estate.
Writer Tom Green – who played Bez from the Happy Mondays in 24 Hour Party People – has described the tale as “raw” and “authentic”.
“It’s full of the humour, heartache, dreams and fears of being part of a brotherhood of mates, and set to the greatest record ever written,” he added.
The film will feature songs from the Stone Roses’ eponymous debut album.
Fans of the Stone Roses should grab t-shirts in the band’s name from 8ball.co.uk to wear along to the auditions.
