Velvet Revolver bassist sets up financial advice firm Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan has established his own financial advice company.

The former Guns N’ Roses band member – who will be performing with Duff McKagan’s Loaded at this year’s Download Festival – teamed up with investor Andy Bottomley to set up the firm Meridian Rock.

Although the rocker acknowledged that many of those in his position may not be interested in finance, he told Fortune Magazine the service could help “clueless” musicians who want to know how they can better manage their earnings.

“When you get that big contract, or your record goes platinum and you’re selling out concerts, you don’t see that it’s going to end,” recalled the star.

McKagan explained how in his time with Guns N’ Roses, he struggled to make sense of documents detailing the band’s earnings in a six-year period, which he stumbled across one day during his recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.

Fans of Duff McKagan should grab music t-shirts bearing the musician’s name or in tribute to his old band Guns N’ Roses from 8ball.co.ukADNFCR-2904-ID-800451597-ADNFCR
