Alex Turner 'wants bands to follow in Arctic Monkeys' footsteps' Alex Turner wants an upcoming guitar band to become an instant chart success like the Arctic Monkeys did in 2005.

The frontman told NME that it is possible for “three kids with guitars and not a lot else” to become the “next big thing” and explained how he would like to see a new group of musicians follow in the footsteps of his indie outfit.

“I’d love for a band to come through and turn the charts upside down for a couple of weeks,” he said.

Turner claimed the Sheffield fourpiece – who enjoyed number one singles with I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor and When the Sun Goes Down – once had a “naivety” and suggested the next big act will possess a similar inexperience.

People who witnessed the early success of the Arctic Monkeys may need to invest in new music t-shirts that honour the band from 8ball.co.uk.ADNFCR-2904-ID-800491282-ADNFCR
