At 8Ball, as you may have already gathered, we’re huge fans of Banksy. We love the little tinker’s work! If there’s a news story that captures the nation’s attention, you can bet your bottom dollar that he’ll voice his opinions through his captivating, urban pieces.

A couple of weeks back, we reported on a potential new Banksy piece that emerged in Camden, London. The tribute to the late Amy Winehouse had all the traits of our favourite guerilla artist. But with nothing to back it up, we can only assume that is indeed not a Banksy original. However, a recent addition to the Banksy website is a shot of a brand new piece that references that phone hacking scandal that has swamped the headlines for the past few months. This is most deinitely one of his!

The image appeared on the site, without giving any specific detail as to its whereabouts. Fingers are pointing towards an East London location, but that’s just hearsay for the time being.

The phone hacking scandal has been a pretty depressing story all round with a nation losing trust in much of the media and the police force. It’s pretty difficult to make this a light-hearted topic, but Banksy sure gives us a little chuckle out of an otherwise despicable situation.
