The nation is gearing up for a festival-fuelled bank holiday weekend, and Muse fans heading to either the Leeds or Reading Festival are in for a very special show to mark the 10th anniversary of their landmark album, ‘Origin of Symmetry’. In celebration and as a gift to the fans, the band will play the album in its entirety at both the Leeds and Reading shows.muse at reading and leeds

The album, released in 2001, has sold over 500,000 copies worldwide and is considered, by fans and band alike, to be their greatest album to date. Lead singer Matt Bellamy tweeted back in March:

“So we’ll probably play Origin in it’s entirety (as well other songs) at Reading/Leeds as it will be 10 years since it came out.”

“Just wanna make sure u crazies get ur tix!”

The band haven’t been on the festival circuit for over five years now, and with the Reading/Leeds weekend being the only festivals scheduled for them this year, fans can expect a very special performance. In a recent interview, Bellamy stated that the band plan to, “create a production around the album that they never had the chance to do at the time.”

If you’re lucky enough to be heading to either of the festivals, make sure you don’t miss this, as it looks set to be truly spectacular. They’ll be headlining the main stage at Leeds this Friday and will be closing the festival for Reading on Sunday night.
