Hopefully you saw on the news earlier this week, in the House of Lords, Baroness Trumpington signalled at Lord King with a two-fingered salute after he commented on her age. This was caught on camera and, naturally, it became an instant hit on YouTube. The Baroness completely denies any intention of giving him the ‘Vs’ and has no recollection of doing so. We find this hard to believe. Look into her eyes as she raises her fingers – she meant it alright, and we don’t blame her! If you missed it, here’s another chance to see Baroness Trumpington’s impression of Liam Gallagher. All she needs is a can of lager by her side and she’s got it nailed.

Baroness Trumpington

This got us thinking of some other famous clips where politicians have been caught out on camera, only for the whole world to log onto YouTube and have a good old laugh. Here are a few of our favourites:

George Bush

We could do a whole post on George W Bush’s cock-ups over the years, but this is our personal favourite. Once again, he tried so desperately to say something profound to his nation but fell flat on his face. This version alone has had 1.5 million views and we think it’s hilarious. We know what the ‘W’ stands for after watching this!

Herman Cain

US presidential candidate and ex-CEO of pizza restaurant chain ‘Godfather’s Pizza’ Herman Cain struggled to answer relatively simple questions about the Libyan conflict in a recent filmed interview. When asked about his thoughts on President Obama’s handling of the situation in Libya, he looks genuinely stumped. Surely if he’s running for president of the most powerful nation in the world, he should have a basic grasp of world affairs! Maybe he should go back to catering.

There are loads more videos of this guy and we suggest you take a look. Quite scary that he’s for real!

Silvio Berlusconi

The billion dollar man that is Silvio Berlusconi left his post as Italian Prime Minister as somewhat of a laughing stock. The man who’d once referred to President Obama as, “young, handsome and tanned” and was constantly surrounded by allegations of persistent wrong-doing, left office last week to a soundtrack of jeers and chants of, “buffoon, buffoon” from thousands of Italians. We found this clip, which demonstrates just one of the reasons why his people nicknamed him ‘The Buffoon’.

Let us know if you have any favourite politician fails from the web. Drop us a comment – we’d love to hear from you. In the meantime, why not ‘stick it to the man’ with our awesome political tshirts
