vigilante justiceSo, another week, another viral video courtesy of the British public transport system.

We’ve all seen the despicable hate-filled monologue that issued from the barely functioning brain of THIS EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING on the Tube, and many have asked the question “how did she get away with that?” It probably had something to do with the child sat on her lap – we can only hope the authorities can find some way of giving this kid a better future than the one he currently looks destined for.

But over the weekend, a new video emerged showing that sometimes being a twat on a train comes with consequences. Step forward one fare-dodging rapscallion, a very stubborn conductor, and the one they call Big Man…

Cue the inevitable debate about whether this kid got what he deserved or whether justice is a job for the law…

As a bit more food for thought, we’ve dug out our top 5 examples of vigilante justice caught on camera. Take a look and, by all means, trade insults with fellow YouTubers whilst either polishing your baseball bat or adding your local police station to speed dial.

We’ll ease you in with some rather slapstick vigilantism from Woolwich town centre – people fall over, trousers come off…what’s not to like?

And here’s another effort that could probably benefit from some Benny Hill music…Yep, it’s the Northampton granny who foiled a jewellery heist armed only with a handbag:

As unlikely heroes go, she’s up there with the best, but this wheelchair user from Vancouver definitely gives her a run for her money. Absolute legend:

From a man in a chair to a man wielding one in the direction of a robber’s face…Here we see Martin Richardson, judo expert and father of Leeds Rhinos rugby star Ryan Bailey, showing absolutely no fear when confronted by a masked gunman:

Back on the other side of the pond, it’s not just the criminals who are armed. In this clip, Vietnam veteran Barry Fixler’s jewellery store is raided by two gunmen. Naturally, he grabs his own firearm and shoots them both, severing one of their spines:
