Snoop Dogg on the naughty step again
filed in Music News on Jan.13, 2012
Snoop Dogg never ceases to amaze us. He always seems to be in the news for one reason or another, and more often than not, it’s because he’s done something completely crazy or he’s rubbed the law up the wrong way. Not so long back, Snoop put a video out on YouTube, as he frequently does, requesting that the man who grew Britain’s largest marrow went to meet him backstage at a gig in Cardiff. Apparently Snoop wanted some horticultural advice. What could that be for? Hmmm…..
Ian Neale, the man behind the massive marrow, didn’t quite know what to make of the strange request. At first, the 68 year old disregarded the invite, but upon reflection, decided to accept and went to meet the man himself. I hope he took an umbrella….fo’ drizzle. (apologies)
Here’s Sky News’ coverage of the story:
Snoop has featured in the headlines a fair bit this week too. Firstly, he’s gone and launched his own brand of cigars. We haven’t seen what the packaging will look like yet, but we can imagine it’ll be anything but plain and simple. It’ll surely have a Snoop Dogg twist somewhere along the way. All we do know is that he plans to name his brand ‘Executive Branch’ – classy! Snoop commented:
“In 2012, we plan on releasing new styles and flavours, in which I will be working with their team to make sure all products are up to Snoop Dogg standards.”
But it seems Snoop’s love of smoking has landed him in trouble recently. Border agents searched the rap artist’s tour bus on a stretch of Texas highway and sniffer dogs found marijuana on board. Although he has a license to take prescription marijuana in California, the drug is illegal in the state of Texas and possession holds a maximum sentence of three months in jail. However, the chances are that he’ll have to ‘cough’ up a hefty fine. He’ll have to attend court later this month to face the music.
Lastly, Snoop has disappointed thousands of European fans by cancelling a headline show at the Snowbombing festival in Austria, and his entire European tour that was due to kick off later in the year. This was announced after the news came out about his latest brush with the law. We expect it’ll be due to visa issues, but hopefully he’ll be able to reschedule in the near future.
Let that be a lesson to you all – drugs are bad m’kay.
