Facebook shares will make graffiti artist David Choe a multi-millionaire

David Choe is a 35-year-old Korean-American artist based in California. He began spray-painting as a teenager, and created the cover art for Jay Z and Linkin Park’s Collision Course in 2004.
In 2005, he was commissioned to decorate the walls of the Facebook headquarters in Palo Alto.
At the time, Facebook was only open to students at a selection of American universities. Nobody could have predicted that, 7 years later, Mark Zuckerberg’s diabolical brainchild would be valued at around $100 billion. In fact, Choe thought the concept was “ridiculous and pointless.”
He was offered a few thousand dollars for his services back in 2005, but, despite his reservations about Facebook, he opted for payment in the form of shares instead. It is now believed that when the company floats on the stock market, his stake will be worth a cool $200 million. In his own words, this makes him the “highest paid decorator alive.”
Originally, then Facebook president Sean Parker asked Choe to paint some erotic murals in the company’s head office. When they expanded to a new site in 2007, Zuckerberg requested something ‘tamer’. But that didn’t stop Choe leaving some cheeky tags on the Zuckmeister’s desk and laptop when he popped out for lunch…
Anyway, here’s some embarrassing footage of Zuckerberg painting a stick man, quite possibly a wistful self-portrait where he’s swinging the decapitated head of a Winklevoss twin around in front of a crowd of terrified onlookers…
And here’s Choe gleefully defacing Facebook HQ… Not a bad way to earn a few hundred million dollars!
