'New Banksy art' found in Watford Following the recent appearance of new Banksy art in Camden, north London, it seems that the mysterious graffiti artist may have moved on to Watford town centre.

A stencil of a man holding a sign reading ‘I need a Facebook’ was spotted on an alleyway wall close to the high street in the Hertfordshire town earlier this week, the Watford Observer reports.

Charles London, an IT security engineer who first saw the image, told the newspaper: “It’s the unmistakeable style with the overriding statement. I definitely think it’s genuine.”

However, the subsequent discovery of a similar stencil bearing the tag ‘Matey’ nearby has caused others to believe that a Banksy copycat could be at large in Watford.

In December, four new images believed to be fresh examples of Banksy wall art appeared on the banks of the Regent’s Canal in Camden.

One of the new pieces featured the phrase ‘I don’t believe in global warming’ spray-painted onto the wall in red and gradually disappearing into the water.
