Eminem crowned Billboard’s artist of the decade

Controversial rap star Eminem is the artist of the decade, according to Billboard.
The US music magazine and chart compiler revealed that Slim Shady was the best performing artist on both the Billboard 200 albums list and the Billboard Hot 100 songs tally.
Eminem first appeared on the Hot 100 with his single My Name Is in February 1999 and proceeded to rack up another 27 entries over the next ten years.
He also had five number one albums on the Billboard 200, including his latest effort Relapse.
Eminem’s confrontational style has won him fans around the world and inspired a many T-shirts, although the graphic content of his songs has also caused problems for the Detroit rapper.
Meanwhile, Billboard named Beyonce as the female artist of the decade, revealing that the former Destiny’s Child star has enjoyed 23 Hot 100 singles in the last ten years.
The wife of Jay-Z also notched up three number one albums on the Billboard 200.
