Rage Against The Machine promised British fans a free gig if their single beat X Factor winner Joe McElderry to the number one spot at Christmas.
As we all know, it did. And now the US rockers are set to make good on their pledge.
On December 19th, the band released a statement on their website saying that they would play “a huge free concert in the UK to celebrate the victory of this historic people’s campaign”.
The date of the gig is due to be revealed later this week, according to promoter Andy Copping.
Writing on his Twitter page, he also fuelled the rumours that Rage Against The Machine will appear at the Download festival.
Fans who wore their vintage Tshirts in support of the Facebook campaign for Killing In The Name to be Christmas number one will probably be waiting on tenterhooks for the date to be released.
No doubt news of the gig will spread quickly once it’s announced, probably via a social networking site.
