The Clash to collaborate with Gorillaz? Since their inception, Gorillaz have never really followed convention. Created as an entirely animated band with some familiar voices behind the cartoons, they’ve had success with songs like Feel Good Inc and Clint Eastwood.

And they’re no strangers to collaborations either – just remember Dare featuring Shaun Ryder of the Happy Mondays.

But now there are rumours that they’ll be playing with punk legends The Clash.

According to Spinner.com, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon are not only going to work with Gorillaz but that they’ll even feature on the group’s forthcoming live tour.

Who knows, maybe on the Gorillaz characters will be seen wearing The Clash T-shirts as a tribute?

Although Gorillaz have announced six dates as a warm-up tour, we’re still waiting to find out when they’ll be hitting the big stages around the UK – and also who they’ll be inviting to join them in the spotlight.

Their most recent album, Plastic Beach, was released earlier this month and features artists such as Snoop Dog, Mos Def and Lou Reed, as well as the duo from The Clash.
