Plans for a biopic of renowned reggae musician Bob Marley have been unveiled by a British filmmaker.
According to Deadline London, Emmy-nominated director Jenny Ash is currently developing the picture, which will portray a year in the life of the Jamaican singer-songwriter.
Speaking to the movie magazine, Ash revealed the year in question would be 1977 – when Marley lived in London after fleeing from Jamaica following an attempt on his life.
“There’s never been a fiction film about Marley,” she added. “We’ve never had a sense of him as a real man, as opposed to the legend.”
However, she does not yet have the rights to his music – which includes songs such as Sun is Shining, I Shot the Sheriff, Jamming and No Woman, No Cry.
Fans of Marley can pay tribute to his work by grabbing one of the reggae T-shirts dedicated to the singer available at 8ball.co.uk.
