Paranormal Activity 2 to be directed by Greutert Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, has been lined up to direct the second instalment of Paranormal Activity.

The budget box-office smash, which was filmed on a video camera, took more than $100m (£61.29 million) during its cinema run last year. It became one of the most profitable films in history, costing $15,000 to make.

Greutert is poised to take the helm in the second Paranormal Activity, after directing the sixth film in the Saw franchise and editing the first five, the Hollywood Reporter revealed.

The Saw movies have inspired a number of T-shirts for horror movie fans to wear with pride.

Now, Kevin Greutert will work alongside screenwriter Michael R. Perry to produce the next Paranormal Activity film, which is due to be released to terrify audiences the week before Halloween.

Oren Peli, the director behind the original movie, will be producing the second instalment.

“These guys get it and the fans won’t be disappointed,” Peli told the Hollywood Reporter when asked about the latest director and writer.ADNFCR-2904-ID-19567680-ADNFCR
