Fans of one elusive Bristol-born street artist may wish to dig out their Banksy T-shirts in celebration after it was announced that his works have entered a world exhibition top 30.
Nearly 4,000 people a day flocked to the Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery in 2009 to view a display of the artist's work, with attendance beating the likes of the London Royal Academy of Arts, the BBC reports.
A Buddhist exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum, based on the hidden treasures of the Kohfukuji temple, topped the attendance numbers list, with nearly 16,000 people a day heading to the museum to catch a glimpse of the artefacts.
The new Saatchi gallery, displaying examples of Chinese contemporary art, was the only other British entry in the top 30.
Banksy's film directing debut Exit Through The Gift Shop recently had it's official premiere in the unlikely setting of a tunnel under Waterloo station.
