We've known for a little while that an X-Men prequel is in the pipeline and now Bryan Singer, the man behind the first two films, has spoken out about the story.
In an interview with the LA Times, the director explained that this new movie will go back to the beginning, as it were.
He said that X-Men First Class will be all about the young days of Charles Xavier and Magneto, from their friendship to the point where the relationship went bad.
"Just doing younger mutants is not enough. The story needs to be more than that. I love the relationship between Magneto and Xavier," he enthused.
It sounds like it could be interesting and the usual helpings of mutant powers will no doubt spawn yet more cool T-shirts from the franchise.
And Singer even hinted that he could get involved with the new Wolverine movie, which is apparently going to be set in Japan.
It looks like there's a lot for fans of the mutant super heroes to look forward to.
With the most recent movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, released almost one year ago, we're about due for another instalment of Xavier's prodigies taking on their enemies.
