Arnold Schwarzenegger 'on board' for new Terminator film

Arnold Schwarzenegger could be set to return in the role that helped make his name, The Terminator.

According to an exclusive published by Deadline, the former governor of California is attached to star in a new installment of the famous franchise, which is to be produced by Robert Cort.

Few details are available on the project, but Arnie's involvement is apparently generating a lot of interest from movie studios, including Universal and CBS Films.

Schwarzenegger starred in Terminators 1, 2 and 3, but his appearance in the latest addition to the series, Salvation, was limited to the use of archive footage.

He has made a few cameos in movies in recent years, but has not starred in a film since Terminator 3, which came out in 2003.
