Peter Jackson has revealed that shooting on Steven Spielberg's new Tintin film is now complete.
However, the Lord of the Rings director explained that it will take approximately two years for the movie's computer effects and animation to be finished.
Speaking to the BBC, Jackson said: "It's made. The movie is cut together and now [we] are turning it into a fully-rendered film.
"So the movie, to some degree, exists in a very rough state."
The New Zealander is one of the producers of The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, which is now expected to appear in December 2011.
Billy Elliott star Jamie Bell plays Tintin, while Simon Pegg and Nick Frost will appear as the bumbling detectives Thomson and Thompson.
The film is eagerly anticipated among fans of the animated adventurer and is likely to inspire a fresh spate of Tintin T-shirts.
Jackson spoke about the Tintin movie ahead of the premiere of his new film The Lovely Bones, which is based on Alice Sebold's bestselling 2002 novel.
