A Scottish fan of The Simpsons has sold a rare manuscript from an early episode of the cult animation series.
Adam Carter from Aberfoyle in Stirling received the script in 1990 as a gift from Maggie Roswell, who voices Simpsons characters such as Maude Flanders, Helen Lovejoy and Miss Hoover.
The 28-year-old saw his prized possession fetch £340 at an auction in Gloucestershire this week, the BBC reports.
"I've treasured it for all those years, but I'm taking five months out to visit friends in Kenya who are helping Aids victims and I'm trying to raise all the money I can," he told the news provider.
The 45-page script is from an episode entitled Bart v Thanksgiving, which featured in the second season.
Chris Albury, auctioneer at Dominic Winter Book Auctions, described it as an "iconic piece of global popular culture".
The Simpsons debuted in 1989 and has gone on to inspire a range of funny T-shirts and memorabilia, as well as spawning famous catchphrases such as Homer's 'D'oh!'.
The updated Star Trek film is currently dominating the DVD market, according to sales figures.
