A characteristic of the Transformers movies is to destroy at least one well-known landmark during the course of a monumental robot battle.
We've seen the Transformers trash downtown LA and then move on to fight it out by the pyramids of Egypt in the second film, so what can we expect from the third instalment?
According to director Michael Bay's official website, the scene of the action will be returning to the US, at least in part.
Chicago is one of the locations earmarked for filming, as is Moscow.
Precisely how much damage the robots will do to the cities remains to be seen, Empire Magazine noted that the film is scheduled for release in July 2011, so fans will have to wait until next year before purchasing Transformers T-shirts featuring the latest battles.
Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are due to return to the franchise and, of course, all our favourite hunks of metal will be bursting on to the screens too.
