Retro T-shirts at the ready, Chow in Bruce Lee remake

23/02/2010

Actor and director Stephen Chow of Kung Fu Hustle fame is apparently set to remake a Bruce Lee classic in his first real foray into Hollywood.

Channel News Asia revealed that the martial arts specialist is stepping up to make his first movie completely in English and using stars from Tinsel Town.

If you're a fan of the original master of on-screen kung fu you might be worried about how this reworking of a classic film could turn out.

You could be reassured to know that Chow has spent almost two years refining the script to make sure it's right and that the movie, called Tai Chi, is based on the Way of the Dragon - which suggests it won't follow it precisely.

Chow is also a big fan of the icon - and probably has a few Bruce Lee T-shirts of his own hidden away - so hopefully fans will see a homage to his work in this latest offering.

The news provider revealed that Chow's taking the starring role, with Jack Black and Anne Hathaway, who stars in Tim Burton's latest movie Alice in Wonderland, due to appear alongside him.
