Veteran actor Jeff Bridges, who has appeared in numerous hit movies, has walked away with the best actor Oscar for his role in Crazy Heart.
The 60-year-old dedicated his win to his parents and said that the award was "honouring them as much as it is me".
He played a troubled country singer in the movie, which also showcased his musical talents.
Films such as The Big Lebowski and Tron have spawned a number of Jeff Bridges T-shirts and given the actor a cult following.
He's even due to star in the new Tron flick - the Tron Legacy - which is scheduled for release in 2011.
But the big winner on the night was Hurt Locker and Kathryn Bigelow, who became the first woman to claim the coveted best director prize.
The Iraq war drama also picked up the best film award, taking the honours in six categories out of its nine nominations.
