Plan B: I want to go punk

Plan B has announced he wants to release a punk record one day.

The rapper and actor - real name Ben Drew - made the revelations in an interview with the Sun today (March 14th).

However, he insisted he would not be interested in performing with the genre's elder statesmen such as John Lydon - whose fans can buy music t-shirts in celebration of the Sex Pistols from 8ball.co.uk - preferring instead to work with contemporary acts.

"I won't do a punk record with loads of old punk artists, but with proper punk artists, ones at an undiscovered level because that's what punk is," said Drew.

The musician - whose album The Defamation of Strickland Banks features the singles Stay Too Long, Writing's On the Wall and Love Goes Down - is scheduled to perform at this summer's V and O2 Wireless festivals.

He added he is working on a "big Brit film", but gave no further details.
