Next instalment of Twilight saga 'could start filming in autumn 2010'

The producer behind the Twilight saga movies has said that the next film in the series could begin shooting this autumn.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Wyck Godfrey explained that, while the creative team are still wrangling with some of the controversial plot elements, the production crew is ready to go ahead later this year.

Breaking Dawn, the fourth novel in the series by Stephanie Meyer, could be split into two instalments, Mr Godfrey revealed.

"The issue [over splitting the film] is not going to be resolved until we get the full treatment and see whether its organic," he told the publication.

Fans of the books and movies often sport team Edward or team Jacob Tshirts to show their preference for one of the two main characters.

Twilight New Moon, which was the second film in the series, was released in November 2009 and broke box office records around the world.

June 30th will see the release of the third film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
