Radiohead fans left waiting in music t-shirts

18/02/2011

Fans were left stood up in their Radiohead t-shirts after the band's scheduled album broadcast in Tokyo was cancelled by organisers.

Security problems prevented frontman Thom Yorke from addressing crowds in the Hachiko Square, who were expecting an announcement at 18:59 local time, reports NME.

The singer is thought to have planned to use the opportunity to unveil Radiohead's latest album The King of Limbs.

"It's a shame they couldn't go through with the show," one follower of the group told the publication, before adding: "We're gonna head to a karaoke booth and sing Creep instead!"

Another said he could not believe organisers had ditched the event after allowing people to assemble at the venue.

The Oxfordshire five-piece - whose hits include Fake Plastic Trees, Climbing Up the Walls and Karma Police - today (February 18th) released the new record on their website, along with the message: "Thank you good people for waiting."
