My Chemical Romance have promised their performances at this year's Leeds and Reading festivals will live long in the memory.
The New Jersey rockers - whose hit singles include I Don't Love You, Welcome To the Black Parade and The Ghost of You - will produce "something special" in their headline slots at the events, frontman Gerard Way told NME.
"We don't care if we lose money or break even," said Way.
After the band were bottled at the Leeds and Reading festivals in 2006, the singer claimed he told his bandmates he did not want to return to the event until they topped the bill.
"I said to the guys, 'I never want to play this again until we headline'," he commented.
The group join the line-up alongside Pulp, The Strokes and Muse, who were announced as fellow bill-toppers on Monday (March 21st).
Fans of My Chemical Romance should purchase music t-shirts bearing the band's name from 8ball.co.uk to wear along to the event.
