The Stone Roses will not be reforming despite recent reports to the contrary, according to a member of the band.
Speaking to BBC News, bassist Mani dismissed rumours of a musical reunion as "total fantasy island gear", following claims made in a tabloid newspaper.
Yesterday (March 7th), the Sun quoted a source suggesting it was only a matter of time before the Manchester indie group got back together after former bandmates Ian Brown and John Squire ended their long-term dispute at the funeral of Mani's mother.
"Two guys who haven't seen each other for 15 years, like people do at funerals, came to pay respects to the bassist's mum and now all this," Mani said.
It is thought to be the first time Brown and Squire have met since the band's split in 1996.
Whether they still hope the rumours turn out to be true, fans of The Stone Roses should grab music t-shirts in honour of the band from 8ball.co.uk.
