New Ashcroft album title announced
15/01/2010
Richard Ashcroft has announced that the title of his new album will be Redemption.
In an interview with NME.com, the former Verve front man said that his latest offering is due to hit the stores in March this year.
Ashcroft also explained that he is working with a new band on this record, called United Nations of Sound.
One of Jay-Z's producers, No ID, is collaborating with the rock star on Redemption and the album will be mixed by Chris Potter, the music magazine reported.
This will be Ashcroft's fourth solo offering since The Verve split in 1999. His first record Alone with Everybody, was released in 2000 and featured the hit single A Song for the Lovers.
The Verve built up a large following of fans, who no doubt donned their vintage Tshirts when the band briefly re-formed in 2007, only to part ways again in 2009.
Songs such as Bittersweet Symphony and The Drugs Don't Work are among the band's best-known hits.
