Vintage T-shirts news: U2 and Jay-Z collaborate on Haiti single

20/01/2010

Irish rockers U2 have collaborated with rapper Jay-Z to write and record a charity record to raise money for the Haiti earthquake relief efforts.

Producer Swiss Beatz is behind the project, after he contacted the stars to suggest the song.

The Edge, U2's guitarist, told Irish radios station 2FM that the single has already been recorded.

He said that after Swiss Beatz and Jay-Z called Bono, the group went to work on the piece.

"Bono came up with the phrase on the phone and last night we were here, we wrote a song, finished, recorded and sent it back to them," the Edge told the radio show.

Fans of the Irish rock group may want to don their vintage T-shirts depicting the band to show support of their latest cause.

U2 have publicly supported a number of charities over the years, including Amnesty International, Greenpeace and the Chernobyl Children's Project.ADNFCR-2788-ID-19568090-ADNFCR
