Retro T-shirts news: Green Day to unveil Rock Band game

Green Day will unveil its own version of Rock Band next year, it has been confirmed.

The punk rock trio may be more famous for hits such as Basket Case and American Idiot, but they intend to move into the video game market with their latest offering.

Fans of the band with a Playstation 3, Wii or Xbox 360 will be able to play along with selected tracks spanning Green Day's 22-year career in music.

Singer Billie Joe Armstrong said: "We want people to fire this up, choose their favourite Green Day tracks and play along with us as Rock Band avatars."

Earlier this year, a special version of Rock Band featuring the music of The Beatles was released by MTV Networks and developer Harmonix.

Green Day have been inspiring retro T-shirts since their debut release 39/Smooth in 1990.

The band's eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, was released earlier this year.
