Retro T-shirts news: Jackson tribute show 'not going ahead'
21/12/2009
The Michael Jackson tribute concert scheduled for London next year now looks unlikely to take place after the main organiser announced that it has dissolved.
World Awards Media, a company based in Austria, issued a statement confirming that the decision to wind up the firm was taken at the end of November.
Although no further details were provided, liquidator Martin Schneider told reporters that the company had lost the financial backing of its main sponsor.
Jermaine Jackson has also been involved in planning the concert, which was initially due to take place in Vienna before organisational problems resulted in a move to London.
It is not yet known whether Jermaine will decide to continue organising a tribute to his late brother on his own, or attempt to find a new partner.
Michael Jackson, whose reign as the King of Pop has been commemorated with retro T-shirts and other merchandise, died from a heart attack at the age of 50 earlier this year.
